About Finca El Pino

Finca el Pino got its name from the pine tree we have on our land, for more than 10 years this pine tree has represented not only my journey to dedicate myself to the coffee industry, but also the values and feelings that have grown with our history. Like this pine tree, we’ve had a long and not so easy journey to get to where we are. My whole family has always been involved in coffee practices, from my great grandparents to my father, but until 5 years ago I decided to dedicate myself to the coffee industry and in all the responsibilities that come with it, from the administration process to the work on land.

Since I started my journey within the administration and cultivation of coffee I’ve had my main value very clear, I have always wanted to help achieve environmental well-being, to do this, I have made many arrangements in the cultivation process, paying close attention to detail in what it can be done better to help the environment. One of the main things that allow us this growth is to take advantage of all the resources, from natural compost to pollination with beekeeping. Each of these details not only gives an added value to our product, this processes make our product more organic and natural, but also gives us great satisfaction since we are pursuing one of our greatest passions and at the same time we are helping the planet.

Despite always having the support of my father and husband with my passion to work in the coffee industry, this same profession has led me to be criticized by people and many to ask me “Why Are you doing a man's job?”. But this has led us to grow much more in our values, now we have added gender equality to our farm values, being a reference for women who want to grow in the coffee industry.

Our pine will continue to grow over time and we will continue to grow with it. We have many future projections and goals to help us achieve this, among the most important, we want to integrate organic fertilizer and beekeeping everywhere in our farm to continue our path towards being a sustainable farm.
