About Finca La Pinada

Since I was a little girl with only 6 years, I have lived, grown and learned on my farm: La Pinada. I remember I came here on horseback, with all my cousins once, while we were on the horse, a snake began to coiled up around it, all of us got off quickly and terrified. Despite that event, we continue growing among coffee's trees making our own world and games, such as rustic swings.

While growing up, I became a passionate and committed young woman. I proposed myself to get a degree in coffee cultivation to be the 4th generation working on the farm. Currently, with 17 years old, I already have a degree and a technician in coffee cultivation. I also finished my third course of cupping. Everyday I try my best to learn more and improve my skills at work in order to maintain my family's legacy.

La Pinada is located in Guatemala, in Cantón Buenos Aires at Huehuetenango, a town where the coffee cultivation, more than a tradition, is culture. The climatic conditions and the 100% coffee soil are the perfect combination to cultivate Pache Rojo that is produced by women. My family and I are members of a Cooperative Mujeres de Buenos Aires, where my mom is the president. One of my dreams is to see my farm grow and I have been making it come true since I received coaching from Anacafé producers, who advise me on activities related to crop management. In addition, in my plans are the renovation of the farm and land conservation to increase and improve the production.

Now, as a part of the fourth generation of producers in my family, I don't build swings or a world of games, now what I really want is to make coffee, culture and a different world in each coffee bean.
