About Las Pilas y Miramundo

What for me started as a “crazy idea” in the year 2018 became a life project that has allowed me to become a female coffee producer for the first time in my legacy. With no knowledge in the world of coffee, but with the help of my husband the foundation was laid for what is now known as Las Pilas y Miramundo farm. They are two plantations situated in Chalchuapa, my native land. Both offer a little piece of freshness and tranquility and the coffee fruits grow alongside shade trees and biodiversity bathed by a stream of water. The water maintains the life of the soil and supplies the El Tanque community.

In the following years, I have perfected my knowledge to be a coffee producer. For me, to learn coffee is day by day that starts on the plantation and finishes in Cooperative Cuzcachapa de RL, my local cooperative. After a lot of work spent in the washing and honey processes, fresh cherries must be delivered to the cooperative. I follow up from the beginning of the processing to the quality control. At the end of the process, we produce coffee of varieties Pacas and Bourbon with flavors chocolatey and citrus.

For my husband and I, coffee is a fountain of knowledge that in a short time has given me the necessary tools to invest in new projects. To me the quality of coffee and it’s traceability is important to me. Furthermore, my work in coffee creates an economic as well as environmental contribution to the community.
